So who can look at the photo below and tell me what they see? If you said, it is a dining room with patrons actually in it, you are correct!
I feel like many restaurants may do OK despite the limits on their seating capacity in the interests of social distancing. I hope that the fact that we have been conditioning ourselves to take-out will mean that the combination of dine-in and take-out will help the hospitality people to make ends meet.
We started our exciting first meal back with the first item on their menu, the Influencer Bowl. We are certainly not influencers but we liked the sound of this busy bowl. There are too many tasty things in this offering for me to pontificate about each of them. Marie was delighted with the lentil and almond rice with coconut cream, while the cilantro-pumpkin seed pesto was my favourite item.
Next up was Posh Beans on Toast which starred sourdough and white beans and again more elements than I can list (check their menu online) but including a vegan parmesan which they make themselves!
Beverage wise, we tried the surprising Mango Turmeric Smoothie, an earthy concoction with pineapple, ginger, coconut, hemp hearts and ginger. I loved this but Marie was less keen (it was admittedly a little out there but not far). Excellent brewed coffee b.t.w. Both Mannel and Ben dropped in on us at our table during our visit and displayed genuine interest in our opinions and questions. We wish them good success.
There is more signage to come soon!
For what its worth, we give Grounds and Greens our rare and coveted 5 out of 5!
